Safety of Vaping

July 10 2015

According to Kevin Hughes on The Telegraph, “the rise of the e cigarette has been verging on the meteoric – in 2013, sales rose 340 percent year on year, beating nicotine patches, lozenges and gum for the first time. While e-cigarettes are not necessarily pitched as aids to help smokers quit traditional tobacco, it’s clear they are being used as an alternative – sales totaled £ 193 million last year (up from £ 44 million in 2012)”.

The great increase in the sales show the rising popularity of e-cigarettes in our society today. However, as the idea of e-cigarettes is a relatively new device and idea, there are various controversial issues that arise from this topic. The main dispute is regarding the idea of whether or not the vapor coming from these e-cigarettes are harmful or not and whether e-cigarettes should be seen as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. Though Kevin Hughes states that “e-cigarettes are not necessarily pitched as aids to help smokers quit traditional tobacco”, the fact that people are using this as an alternative to traditional cigarettes show the use of e-cigarette as a means to quit smoking. According to Steven Reinberg on WebMD News, a “study found that people who wanted to quit smoking were about 60 percent more likely to succeed if they used e-cigarettes compared to would-be quitters who tried an anti-smoking nicotine patch or gum”. Also Dr. Michael Siegel (professor of community health sciences at Boston University) states, “It appears, at least for some people, e-cigarettes are a viable method of quitting that looks comparable to, if not better than, traditional nicotine replacement therapy”. People are starting to recognize the need to quit and e-cigarettes are seen as the most effective method that has actually helped many people quit traditional smoking.

The growing popularity and demand for e-cigarette is undisputable as it is simply a trend that is taking place in our society today. The real question or controversy regarding this idea is whether it is actually safer than traditional cigarettes or not. Though there is a clashing of ideas, as there still needs to be more research done regarding this issue, vape still has high potential of being safer than traditional cigarettes. As Morgan Griffin states in WebMD, “so far, evidence suggests that e-cigarettes may be safer than regular cigarettes. The biggest danger from tobacco is the smoke, and e-cigarettes don’t burn. Tests show the levels of dangerous chemicals they give off are a fraction of what you’d get from a real cigarette”. With the growth of technology, e-cigarette industries have, according to Jason Koebler in his article The FDA Says E-cigarettes Are Less Harmful Than Smoking, ‘“given an opportunity to make a serious dent in the death and disease toll, now that we can regulate these,’ Zeller said. ‘Let’s not lose our focus on what the primary cause is for those 480,000 avoidable deaths each year’…Zeller’s comments were some of the first that suggests the FDA sees vaping as inherently less harmful than smoking”.

E-cigarettes do not produce smoke that comes from burning tobacco like that of traditional cigarettes. Dennis Thompson, in Healthday, refers to “Thomas Kiklas, CFO of the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association who states, “All constituents (of e-cigarettes) have been in the U.S. food supply for generations and all are approved by the EPA/FDA for human inhalation and us dermally. The e-cig has and is being used by millions of Americans; There have been billions and billions of uses without a single incidence of harm”.

Though there still needs to be more research done in this specific area, the use of vapor rather than smoke is seen as a safer alternative. With the continuously growing technology and rise of leading e-cigarette companies such as Innokin, we can hope for a safer and healthier society, one that is absent from smoke.

I guess that’s the concern of many vapers around the world today. Although there are studies done here or there to prove that e-cigarettes are safe or we can say less harmful that the real cigarette, the public is not yet aware of this fact so smokers are still in doubt to use e-cigarettes to help them quit smoking. Hope there are campaigns that could promote e-cigarettes/vaping and let the world known of its existence.

If light is green can it still be charged

Hi Rich! It can. The light will not turn yellow until around a half charge.

    Thank you!

Over charging your e-cig battery can cause it to over heat the charger its self and melt and the fire from that will cause the battery to explode and cause a fire if it not showing red don’t charge and if the charger itself gets hot then unplug and get a new battery wish someone had given me this information before my house caught fire from it and I had only put my battery on the charger for less than 5 minutes and when I came back my whole bedroom was on fire. I lost almost everything from it. Please understand I still use a e-cig but I don’t leave it charging unless I’m right there and also I buy a battery that has warranties and a good shut down system with a short circuit protection

I have a iTaste CLK1 and some times the green and yellow flash about 3 or 4 times but then I can still vape. What does it mean? Also I would like to say that this product is so much better than the EVOD I have and now it does not work any more. Thank you for your good product!! Thanks again, Catherine

Where can I find extra batteries for the disruptor and is there a battery with more life. I seem to have to charge it at least 3 times per day, whereas with the itaste mvp I previously owned I only charged it once per day.

    Innokin Frank Posted on9:09 pm - Jan 13, 2016

Hi Clarence. You can find spare InnokinCell batteries at many of our authorized vendors. We offer a 3300mAh version if you don’t mind a little extra bulk on your device. Thank you.

Hi, I have had the MVP 2 and 3 pro, both died because issues at the charging point. Had the cool fire iv address this issue, I have heard it was a wide range problem.

My MVP 2.0 came with what looks like an adapter, yet the clearomizer I have do want seem to fit into that at all. What exactly is it for?

    Innokin Frank Posted on11:45 pm - Feb 1, 2016

It’s for use with recessed 510 devices. If your atomizer has a 510 connection sticking out of the bottom, you don’t need the adapter. Thanks.

Hello,
I purchase my endura t18 in Canada. I will be travelling to Europe (France and Italy) and am wondering if the device will be compatible with using a voltage adapter. I have had other devices (hair dryers and hair straighteners) burn out while using voltage adapters overseas and do not want to burn out my ecig but I will need to charge it while there. Does anyone know if this is a problem?
Thanks!

I have been vapeing for 3yrs now never had a cig in that time when I did smoke I was always out of breath coughing and bringing up all kinds of shit since I been vapeing I have had none of that,I tried everything on the market and also tablets of the doctor and nothing worked till I tried a e-cig so in my opinion e-cigs are far better than smoking ur getting the nicotine hit and not getting all the chemicals that come’s with the cigarettes

Hi, I just bought the endurance T18 and I am charging it out of box. The light is green so I am not sure if it is full charge or not. There were 2 spots in the manual, one said it will turn green when full and the other said the green light will shut off. Which is true so I know….. Thank u!

Thanks to the great technology of the E, I quit smoking February 12, 2012. I started nice at 36. I am now down to 30. I love the idea of the PG/VG which was not offered when I started vaping and free feel of quitting due to the dangers of smoking. I have a question. I was told by a Dr. that you get popcorn lungs by vaping. Is this true. I have a tendency of not believing in everything Dr.”s say.

I have been vapeing on off for three to four years choosing to vape more often than burn tobbaco to create smoke and has been the best life style choice I’ve made.I found I can breath deeper run for longer and richer in my wallet I would recommend premium e liquids and high quality vape machines to any smoker if there looking to quit or use a healthier format of nicotine replacement to avoid the risk of serious fatal diseases caused by burning tobacco. innokin has helped me to switch to a safe way of nicotine replacement by vapeing.thx.
